sermon: We Shall Be God! (Part 1)
Human Potential
John W. Ritenbaugh
Given 15-Feb-92; Tape #006
Description: Our goal determines the thoroughness of our preparation. If we do not know our destination, we will spend our time aimlessly wandering. Using the "kind after kind" principle, God clearly makes a unique distinction when it comes to humankind (Genesis 1:26-27), intending that the God-kind be reproduced (Genesis 5:1-2). Our destiny to be God is directly tied to what we have sprung from—God. Man's creative mind makes him different from the rest of creation. The completion of our destiny consists of maturing or progressively transforming to the stature and fullness of Christ (our prototype, forerunner, or archegos; Ephesians 4:13) as He is now glorified, achieving the Divine nature of God (Philippians 3:21; Hebrews 1:3; 2:10).
